Queen Of The Dead...

The RMS Queen Mary has long been a favorite ship of mine. How could it not be! Not only does this ship have quite the history, but it’s also known as a haunted ship. As I’m sure you all know by now, I’m intrigued by a good ghost story and this ship has a plethora. I have never been brave enough to stay the night on board, but I have taken several ghost tours here and one of them was the Paranormal ship walk. There were about fifteen people on our tour, and our tour guide’s name was Sandy.

Not only did we tour the key parts of the ship, the walkways, the corridors and the main lobby but we got to see the most haunted room on board, it was vacant of décor and furniture as it had been closed off to hotel guests.

My husband had a grand time conveying to one person on our tour that the orbs in her camera phone were nothing more than specs of dust. My husband and I were not the most popular members on this tour.

On this tour we heard fascinating stories about what hotel guests had reported while staying, such as strange knocks on the walls or sounds during the night with no rhyme or reason.

What I should add that if you decide to take this tour, this is a walking tour and many parts are not wheelchair accessible you walk up flights of stairs and through narrow passageways. We got to see the famous ghost pool and heard stories of wet footprints.

One such story was about a woman in white with dark hair (why is there always a story about a woman in white?) seen through parts of the hotel. My husband turned to me and asked if I had been there before in one of my vintage dresses. I may have pale vampire-like complexion, and yes, I do love to wear vintage style clothing, but I can say, no, that wasn’t me.

Have you been to the RMS Queen Mary? What are your thoughts about it?
